WHY ????

but best way would be to get some cotton , reel it up a couple of times and in theory " saw " it off gently and slowly if not coming very well add abit of heat just be vey patient,

Any sticky residue left same again just apply some heat and it will gently peel off.

WD40, let it soak in under the spoiler.

Cotton won't do it , it'll snap. Use dental floss instead in a sawing motion

I want to swap the standard colour coded spoiler for a carbon one.
I will try the methods suggested. (except the grinder :-) )
Cheers

Wayne. You could try a carbon wrap. That would avoid removing the spoiler and save you big bucks.

Bruce, I did think about wrapping it along with the lower spoiler on the front bumper but wasn't sure what type of finish would be achieved? Is it something you've had done in the past?

I haven't tried it myself. But some on here have with great results. eBay has loads of quality 3m carbon wrap in a variety of styles. Hairdryer and Stanley knife and your good to go. If you make a mess you only loose a few quid.

You can try just lifting the spoiler but make sure it is on a warm day. They do come off rather easily as indeed attested by many members who have unfortunately had them nicked on their driveways!

it depends on how it has been stuck on...if its just 3m tape then i don't think you will have too many issues. but a lot of bodyshops around my way use a silicone sealant alongside the 3m tape, simply because so many spoilers have been stolen!!!

Buy the carbon wrap from Ebay then go on to You tube. You could always contact a firm and get them to do it for you. Best of luck let us know how you get on

Hairdryer to heat the panel up, dental floss to get under it and then something like Tardis to remove the remaining glue residue once off. Then wash the bootlid (2bm) before polishing and then giving it a final IPA wipedown to remove any oils which will prevent the new spoiler from adhering well.

Have you got yourself a carbon spoiler?....personally I'd keep clear of wrap as it starts to 'crinkle' after a while if not fitted correctly.

I've not decided what to do yet. I've looked at wrapping but not 100% convinced on the finish as it's not the same gloss finish you get with a genuine carbon part. There is also, like you mention the possibility of peeling.
Spotted a spoiler on Niche Conversions. You know if their parts are good quality? They look the biz on a computer!

Cheers
