Boot will not open.

Hi Iain,

This may be a waste of time but it is the only thing I can think may be worth trying.

Locate the vacuum line that comes from the pump in the boot to power the door locks. There will be a junction somewhere to take the line to the individual doors. If you can isolate the line from the boot and apply some source of vacuum to it would there be a possibility that this may release your boot lock ??

Well I finally got the car into the workshop yesterday and got the boot open. I tried the blowing and sucking through the vacuum pipes suggestion but unfortunately this only operated the doors. The solution was to remove the tray that the 1st aid pack sits in. Under this tray/liner there are 3 apertures that have been pressed out of the metal of the parcel shelf. Through this I was able to pass my deep 10mm socket on just over 1 metre of 3/8" drive extension onto the 2 bolts that hold the locking clasp on the back panel and remove the clasp. Hey presto, I've now got in!:D
Removed battery (which will need replacing) and also removed the pse unit which I now know to be faulty. Tried a known good pse unit from an S202 and I now have central locking and locking fuel flap back and working! Obviously the headrest and boot opening isn't an option on the estate, but its good to have central locking back.
Many thanks for all who contributed.:thumb:
