bose audio?

hi

i have heard on these forums about "bose audio". how do i tell if my car has this?

i have speakers on door bottoms, door tops by the mirrors, rear of the doors and a centre speaker in the rear seat bench.

Is this centre speaker a proper "centre speaker" like i have on my home stereo?

my car is a 1999 pre-facelift CLK

AFAIK - it would say Bose on your speakers if it was a factory install. If it was aftermarket then it wouldn't - unless whoever installed it went the whole hog.

If your car had it you would expect to see it mentioned in the particulars as it is a big plus. I wanted it in mine but although the prev owner had specced it high - Bose hadn't featured

on the w208 cab , if your car has bose .. Under the rear arm rest there will be a bose badge on the sub there.

My '99 Model Year SL500 has bose but it isnt badged. The only clue is the Amp and when the door cards were off the speakers have it marked on them. I am thinking of fitting some badges to the grills just for the hell of it...

just found out my car didnt come with a radio as standard so i suppose this definatly means it doesnt have bose?

Bose installations have subwoofers that have Bose written on them. On my SLK they're behind the seats. Apart from that they're anonymous. Also there is an extra amp which they've helpfully put at the end of the passenger footwell - restricting legroom.
