hi all

I have a 98 SLK230 and i want to change the MB head unit for another that plays mp3 or put a multiplay in the boot.

I have the Bose upgrade and there are two brown wires going to a third plug on the back of the stereo if I change the head unit where do i connect these?

If i go down the multi play route where is the best place for the changer and is there a cable already run?

I hope this all make sense!! ;-)

The head unit that you have probably has a fiber optic input for the CD Changer. I find it hard to belive that a car that had the Bose upgrade did not have a CD changer originally.

Have you owned this car from new? If not then it is possible that the changer has been removed and the original changer cable is still there.

I have heard that you can buy aftermarket MP3 CD Changers that can connect to the Mercedes headunit. Try Becker or may be Alpine.

i have a website someware that lists all aftermarket changers for any make of car iirc

give me a few hours to dig it up
