Hello,
I had the right front fog light that stop working, I took the bulb from the left and put it in the right, but it did not work, I put it back to the left, and now none of them are working?
The back red one is working, the warning on the dash tells me there is a light problem, would that be a fuse? What number? The fuse do not seems to be blown. :dk:
Thank you.

Have you made sure you have 'seated' the bulbs in the holders properly? Could be contacts need cleaning and/or both bulbs have gone whilst you have been handling them....

I just went there, yes, it look like the bulbs seat properly, I check the fuse under the hood, all OK, on the side behind the dash, and find number 3 burned? I replace it. The light bulbs look OK, I didn't handle/ touch the glass. No sign of broken coil inside?
Odd...
Might be both went south today? But usually you can see a burned light bulb, no?
Didn't look under the back seat as it started raining...

maybe first bulb blew its fuse, then when moved, blew that as well.

I have seen bulbs that dont work , yet apear to have undamaged filiments.

Oh, might be the case then? I need to connect them directly on the battery to be sure.
Thank you.

If the above fails I'd also check the fuse again.
I also once had a check bulb warning light on my dash.
The cure was to rub the oxidised fuse connectors and check it was seated properly.

Little black round connectors in the bottom of the fog lamps corrode up did it on drivers side on mine, right sod to get the plug out, once out quick clean and regrease and all was okay again.

My lights were badly corroded inside so i got some depo ones from e bay bargain at £35 the pair:D.

The one on the right is second, but look like new compare to the left. The connections where not corroded on the "new ish" one at all.
Its odd as I don't understand why two would fail on the same time.
I need to check the bulb properly tomorrow.
cheers.

If both lights share the same ground connection this could be suspect, especially as if the fuse blows it could weaken a bad ground connection.

Cheers. Might be a bad connection then. The fusr was number 3, not suppose to be the fog lights? I think.

What do you mean by this? I didn't hold it by the glass, but it came in the post with the whole light some times ago, it was working for few days though.
Are they suceptible to vibrations? It seems odd as they are attach to the car, they must be able to wistand(spelling?) shocks and vibrations,no?

If the bulb was hot when the original car was damaged the filaments were stretched and failure would be inevitable.

A small tip to check if an auto bulb is blown;
Flick it. You will see the unattached end of the filament vibrate.

Here is an update, after looking att he bulb with a magnifier, I find out that the top connection in the picture was not connecting, and apparently not welded.
Is that a king of surge/ heat protecion, or can I weld the bugger to make a proper connection?
Thank you.

I reckon you can just solder that.

I wonder why its there non solded though... But a wee bit of silver will hold the light and make it work.
I pushed the wire and the plate, they do now make contact, I'll try without the welding, but if it last a day, welding it'll be.
Thank you Andy.
