Hi

Need help...What is the difference between the brake discs with the specification:"...Special Purpose Vehicle: not for hired vehicles / not for taxis..." and "...Special Purpose Vehicle: for rental vehicles / for taxis...".
Can I mount the brake disc for táxis in my car that isn’t taxi. What is the difference?

Thanks

Any help please:(

Can't say I've seen that before - are you talking about OE parts or motor factor?

I think some taxi licensing authorities insist that there are no modifications made to manufacturer spec brakes, steering etc.. Depending on make / model, it might also be possible to order a special spec, ie taxi, police etc. when specifiying new. Often this will simply be a mechanically heavier duty version than standard, or the highest spec. possible for that model is fitted, perhaps with more basic interior trim etc..

The supplier is probably best suited to advise. You might be able to tell by looking at the specs of the 2 versions and seeing what the difference between them is. Don't forget that if the discs are bigger, they might not fit in the caliper.
