Brake servo seems not to work on start up.

Coming out of drive in morning I have to brake before pulling out of driveway onto road.

The brake pedal is incredibly stiff (as if servo assisted brakes are not working) as I do so.

Once onto road and braking in usual driving they are fine.

Something I don't know?

Yes, I know it's 4 years old, but it was never answered and it's happening on my car now. So, does anyone want to advise what might be wrong...thanks.
