Hello every one
can some one tell me what kind of brake system I have in my mercedes c class estate classic w203 2007 ? I am replacing the rear brake discs and was looking at brembo disc to buy from euro car parts and was asked what kind of brake system I have in my car in order to get the wright disc but unfortunatly I don't have a clue , could some one please tell me if I have teves or brembo brake system in my car ? thank you :wallbash:

ECP can be somewhat confusing (and confused) when it comes to brakes.

All you need to know are the size of the discs in terms of diameter / thickness and the manufacturer of caliper fitted so you purchase the correct type / shape of pads. MB like other manufacturers use a variety of different suppliers so parts will vary a little.

Alternatively go to your local MB dealer and buy from them via your chassis number (VIN)

If you post your VIN here someone may be able to look up what was fitted to your car originally.

thank you DSM10000
I did tell them the make of my caliper which are lucas and i am using brembo brake pads but still could not tell me whether I could use brembo brake disc or not and I did ask the MB for a pair of rear disk but the price is £100+ each.

The make of the discs is not relevant, it is typical of ECP etc to be a little vague!

Simply measure the current disc diameter etc and buy that way from ECP etc or post your VIN and someone will be able to read your car's data card and original specification. :thumb:

No reason at all why you can't use Brembo brake discs whatever brand of caliper. As DSM10000 alluded to, the important part is getting the correct ones to match your reg # or Vin #

Last time I went to Euro Car Parts, they entered the reg number into their computer. This gave them the associated VIN number and they were able to tell me all the compatible parts for the car, from budget to premium brands.

The same however, is NOT true of their website. I once ordered some brake disc via their website by entering my reg number. The website identified the car ok but the rear discs it suggested were too small.
They did of course accept them back and swap them for the correct ones.

My point is, website is not so reliable but going into branch and dealing with them in person should ensure you get the right parts.

Next time you go there, you'll likely see someone different who might be able to advise you properly.
I'd get a price from them and then see if you local dealer can get close to it. Sometimes they do.

thank you DSM10000 and AMGeed and mr.shr
I will measure the disk diameter and will go to my local ECP and see if they can help there but I did give the ECP my registration online but they were not very help full . thank you again for your help

There were several trim variants at the time, Classic, Avantgarde, Sport, etc.

The sportier versions had lowered suspension and larger drilled front discs, but not sure if the rear ones were any different.

The Classic will have the smallest / 'plain' discs.
