Bumper Repair

I've just returned from the summer hols, where (embarrassingly), I managed to scrape the underside of my bumper moulding on a high kerb.
I know, before you say it, it was probably the co-drivers fault for incorrect navigation advice!!!
Also (to my embarrassment) the car in question is an Audi A6 and I should not be asking for your advice on such anything other than a MB.

Is anyone aware of a filler product that is flexible enough for a DIY repair, or have I got to go to a specialist?
If it’s a specialist job does anyone know a good one in Suffolk?

I look forward to your comments.

You didn't do this in a car park in Kingston today did you ?

I watched an Audi A6 mount the kerb by the barrier as it turned in and realising its mistake, reversed off, bashing the underside of the front spoiler hard on the kerb as it dropped off.....

No - St Maxime, South of France! Kingston for my summer hols? I should be so lucky!

I don't know if many VW group cars suffer from low bodywork - my brother-in-law damaged his Bora front bumper on a regular height kerb in a carpark.
My car grounds is mud flaps at every available oportunity and, in the entrance to our holiday carpark, was scuffing the engine undertray and the underside of the bumper moulding where it joins the engine undertray.
My wifes car (Golf rag top) was recently in for some work and the dealer loaned a new Beetle. When the dealer returned the Golf & collected the Beetle he reversed off our drive, missed the drop-kerb on 1 side and as the wheel bumped down the regular height kerb there was a sickening thump as the underside of the bumper struck the kerb. Glad it was the dealers driver not me!
Could it be front wheel drive cars with long overhangs in front of the front wheels?

Diy V dent repairs pecialist

Halfords do a special bumper filler for blemishes like this. Be prepared for lots of sanding down with varying grades of wet and dry paper, followed by masking ,and careful application of aerosolspray paint, rubbing down again , etc etc then final clear laquer coat. The consumables required including a manufacturer touch up aerosol set begins to add up. If you havnt any experience of this dont try its not easy to get a professional finish !! You may find a local independant bodyshop or one of the "dent repair specialists" see yellow pages will give a better repair. Best recommendation is word of mouth. Ask your dealer bodyshop for who they use for minor repairs!!

Thanks for your help Grober, I'll check out Halfords, but it sounds like a specialist may be a better idea as I'm no expert.
