Burning Smell Part 2

Following on from my recent post http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=64357

The car now has what I would describe as a hot water bottle smell when I accelerate, also in the drivers footwell the carperted tunnel that houses the gear stick feels noticible warmer.

I am thinking of taking it to the MB garage at Redhill tommorrow morning for them to have a look at but in the mean time any suggestions as to what could be wrong would be very welcome..

Maybe leaking antifreeze from the heater matrix. Is it a sort of sickly-sweet smell.?

Difficult to say exactly how it smells, hot water bottle was about as good as I could get although it did remind me of the smell that my SAAB made after the head gasket went.

I have looked under the bonnet and cannot see any leaks or source of the smell but its quite difficult considering how much of the engine bay is hidden with those plastic covers.

If the smell isn't sweat (glycol), then remove the plastic engine cover and check your injectors. A very common issue.
