time has come to sell the alfa, i am sorry to see it go, but needs must, any longer and the depreciation will really kick in, so, anyway, we've seen a clc 200 kompressor diesel, and quite like it.

price circa 16000.

should we be looking at other models, we want a economical, comfortable and reliable every day car? she will be using it mostly, so needs to be girley friendly

all advice will be welcome.

(unfortunately an sl 65amg tt wont fit in the parking space... lol)

Nothing wrong with them, you may want to also consider a diesel one or a used C class 204 saloon, all very nice cars

yeah, it is a derv one we are looking at a bit worried about reports that they are a very dull drive

Hi,
A Kompressor is a petrol engine not Diesel.
I have a CLC 200 Kompessor, I love it to bits, fun but only 23mpg!!!

I wouldn't buy any of the smaller engined cars, certainly not a small diesel if I wanted a spirited drive. A small v8 or supercharged big six would seem more appropriate.

However, 'spirited' is pretty subjective. I came out of a 1.6litre Asian commuter vehicle into the CLC 200K (1.8litre) and its like chalk and cheese.

Like any small engine car you have to keep the revs up, but above about 2500RPM the little 200K is fun enough for me and is happy and smooth to rev right up to 6000.

I get around 31MPG doing mainly city commutes. Over 40MPG on country drives. I should add though that I am usually a pretty casual driver and don't tend to slam the accelerator through the firewall when driving.

Hello

Don't think I would spend 16K on what is an older car with a new front / back...

Also is it a C200Cdi or C200 Kompressor?

I've just had a CLK200 Kompressor is that the same engine? very smooth engine and liked it. Cruising I got 34mpg out of it so would have thought a smaller CLC would do that?

What about a CLK?

OOps just read your post so its a CLC200Cdi... you could always remap it? thats probably the same engine in my wifes B class. Over 40mpg on any run and my best 59mpg ;) ours is the CVT auto also.

Think I would be looking at a CLK Cdi sport something like

Stratstone Land Rover : Mercedes-Benz Clk220 Cdi sport auto
