I am working through the little gremlins on my newly purchased c180 and one of the last is a misfire when cold - the car starts and idles fine and the misfire is only evident for the first 5 minutes round the country lanes where I live. if i use a light throttle its fine but it is hesitent on accleration until its warmed up - in fact its just like the old carb pertol cars from the 70's 80's used to be until they got warm. it uses no oil or water and does not overheat so its not the head gasket and its absolutley fine when warm - is there a cold start sensor on these and could this be the problem? its the 111.921 engine if that helps

Sorry to say still sounds like the start of cylinder head gasket failure. Get your garage to do a coolant headspace sniff test with an exhaust gas analyser. Very sensitive test and easy to do. Failing that remove all the spark plugs and have a look down the hole at the the top of the piston. Do any look wet/oily compared to the rest?
Otherwise check your throttle plate throat is clean causing the plate to stick. Clean with a little solvent/carb cleaner. A change of spark plugs might also help? the coolant sensor is at the front of the engine on the thermostat housing pipe.
