This was on the MB stand yesterday at Cheshire show, up for sale, I know R107 560 was USA market only, this must be rare? do you think the trader money spent is fair....?

Vehicles For Sale

I thought the same...but maybe he has a disability so did not want to comment....

I think a trader with that poor a grasp of english is luck to be in business.

Looks nice, but most people would rather have an SL so a limited market for that car I think.

Story sounds a bit odd ... it's the car he always wanted ... his dad had one too ... allegedly spent £16k plus the purchase price ... car is perfect now ... so he puts it up for sale? :dk:

thanks Bill....yes £16k spent on it by a trader is a lot, he is a classic specialist so maybe...interesting that there's no sale price, must be lots:crazy:

Strangely , the advert lists it as a W111 ( which is a Fintail ) and not a C107 .

The rest of the story did seem a bit inconsistent - it is certainly not a 'genuine' 560 when he already admitted it was a 380 which was converted .

I'm a big fan of SLC's and this one looks the business, the 15 hole alloys really suit it too. Shame the advert is so off putting in more ways than one. Still, if one was in the market for a unique SLC, it must worth a look. Wonder how much is he looking for? A lot I'd expect.

An exert from the advert;
"He said im going away tomorrow for 2 weeks and when im back ill ring you I DIDNT SLEEP FOR 2 WEEKS IM NOT JOKING."

Think its an honest enough advert but the car is totally undesirable IMO.

Biggest issue is why would anyone spend that kind of money on an SLC. SL or SEC surely.

I did see it in the flesh at the show, it looked fab but considering what he will probably want for it...surely better to buy an original...

Got to say, I think the C107 looks weird most of the time. This is the first one I've seen in black with updated alloys and I actually think it looks good! Must be the 70's light beige / green etc. and Mexican hat alloys that makes the others look "awkward".

I agree with above though, buy an SL or if you want a coupe, a 500 / 560SEC post '86.

Or perhaps even an excerpt....
