Its the one on your right as you look towards the rear of the car. [ the nearside in a RHD car] Twin camshafts inlet and exhaust are normally coded together code number is normally on the 3 cam bearing or the rear of the camshaft flange on older models [ this probably means you have to take it off to see it?]can't comment on the the 180 engine for definite but MB tend to keep things the same .
Post them up and we will see-do they start with 202?I have some numbers off the camshafts. Do you have any way of identifying exhaust and intake if I give you the numbers.
No: It is a 111 motor. The numbers I have are R111 051 17 01 and on the other R111 051 11 01. and there are other numbers but I think these are the ones identifying exhaust and intake. PLEASE HELP
Why not phone MB dealers, parts dept. and ask for descriptions on the numbers you have. They are surely marked inlet and exhaust on EPC
When I key in your chassis number [ posted on the other forum] and look at the parts diagram it comes up with
R111 050 1801 inlet
AND
R111 050 1901 exhaust

HOWEVER the diagram depicts the inlet camshaft as having variable timing and I know for a fact that the early 180 twin cam engines in the UK had fixed timing. I am guessing your camshafts are for the fixed timing engine but unfortunately I am unable to locate any information regarding this engine. this is maybe one for the dealer.
unless
the camshafts are from a different 111 engine entirely - I did get one internet search hit on part no R1110511701 but it implied it was for a c 230 engine but I would not rely on that??
