hi i own a 98 c180 manual and it seems very slow, from take off it takes quite a lot of time to build up speed and somtimes when cold its totally unresponsive i.e. i press the gas and nothing happens!!

also the gas pedal and bit diffrent to other cars ive driven in that u press it and for the first half nothing happens, then the throttle seems to work :S

can anyone help??

thanks

Firstly check the accelerator cable isn't slack, next check out the MAF.

If the symptoms still persist...buy a car with a bigger engine.

Seriously 180s are not very quick.

The throttle response on these is very slow. Non linear is the description I think. Just the way it is. Give the impression of poor resonse. Just stand on it.

lol yeah i seem to be standing on the gas everytime i drive, still slow as ! needs to go over 3000rpm to keep up with traffic

also the clutch is hard and if u bring it up slowly there seems to be some clunking coming from the car aswell

Hi there,

Try and get a drive in another C180 if you can! That way you'll see if its your car, or all of them!

Yes C180's arent particularly quick, but I've found mine fine for every day driving, and dont have any problem keeping up with traffic!

Good luck!
