C200 not picking up signal from the key ... Intermittently

I am getting a message of Key not detected put key in designated place as in handbook.
The key doesn't start, open the doors or lock the car. It's a 2019 C200 EQ Boost 1.5 petrol.
The irony is that after trying multiple times the key starts to work again.
Any ideas as to why?

When I had the same message, changing the key battery solved the problem

Thanks , I had fitted a new battery about two weeks before the fault appeared but I have now fitted a second new battery and everything is working ok. The first batter must have been faulty.

You need a good quality key battery like Duracell or Panasonic I found.
The Poundland batteries are a waste of time.
