Hello guys,

Just got a 2001 C200K SportsCoupe with Sensotronic gearbox.
The car is lovely to drive and really nice and solid. With no rust!!! lol well only a couple very minor spots,

when I switch it on from cold... the revs will hunt ie 1200rpm down to 800rpm up to 1200rpm down to 800rpm and so on ... will do that for 5secs and then it will stabilise to a nice idle.

When I come to a standstill from moving, the revs will deep and there will be a bit hunting again for 5secs... and then it will be ok.

There is no problem when selecting gears etc...

But setting off sometimes can have some galloping effect, until the accelerator is pressed more to even out.

If i set off very slowly the revs build up nice and steady with a very smooth take off.

I am sure there is nothing wrong with the gearbox.

Could this be an MAF causing this problem?
Or a CrankShaft sensor?

:wallbash:

Cheers
Vasilis

I would strongly suspect the MAF.

I have cleaned the MAF of my RX8 last week, dipped it over night in IPA Alcohol and then put it back on. it was like new and performed much better.
Might do the same with this one as well.

When the MAF failed somewhere in Italy on my way back from Greece when I was driving my CL500 it did not seem to have any affect to the car, just the EML light came on.

But no EML on this Mercedes. Totally different cars though.

Did a scan with my OBDII and Torque and came up with the two codes P0101 and P0102 for indicate MAF sensor
I took the MAF out today dipped in alcohol for a couple of hours dried throroughly.
No changes what so ever same problems happen and codes came back.
It does not show any EML which I would expect it would have come on. But it does not.

I think I will look online to get a replacement MAF Sensor. It is a Siemens Unit it has on there at the moment.
