C204 Parking sensors fault

My front parking sensors (2014 C class coupe) occasionally beep and show the 4 red middle LEDs, other times it seems to work ok. Is there anything I can check before getting it booking in for a MB star diagnosis, or are there any free-ish OBDII apps that will give more information?

Mine does this too, but very infrequently - maybe once or twice a year.

Nothing is showing on iCarsoft or STAR. The ECU is on the latest firmware.

I just ignore it, but if it happens quite frequently I can see why it would be annoying.

My guess is a dodgy parking sensor, but unless it shows up on STAR, not sure how best to tackle it - not much point in replacing all of them.

At one time my front number plate was loose enough on one edge to trigger the nearest sensor. It was only proud by about 15mm
