Car
E220 CDi
C Class 220 cdi coupe.

Does anyone have one of these and rate them ? I have an E Class 220 cdi and although it is not bullet it is a bit nippy @ around 145 BHP. Does it have the same engine, CC , BHP ? or are they less capacity and of a lower state of tune.

What sort of MPH and MPG does anyone get. What are the weak point to look for when buying ?

Cheers Merc808

same engine exactly, but obviously the car is much lighter so feels a lot quicker...
MPG is also much better, if driven carefully you can get mid 50's on these.

Thanks

Post Face Lift W203 220 CDI engines (2149CC) have 142/143BHP where the Face Lift engine has been tweaked to 150BHP.

On the W203 saloon the 220 CDI certainly does not feel under powered at all and the mid range punch is superb but is not very quick from a stand still until the tubo kicks in from 20MPH. Despite official MB paper figures the C220CDI can effortlessly do a max speed of 145MPH and the engine does not feel strained/over loaded at all.;)

i have a C200CDI Coupe, 122BHP, im getting average 53mpg out of it on motorway journeys, and its an auto!

My sister has the C220CDI, Coupe, 150bhp, cant notice the difference midrange, off the lights mine is not as quick.

i hear the 200k is a lot more fun to drive

I can vouch for that as I used to have one as well and I do miss the C200K...! It is a very lively car and great from a stand still.

C240 IMO is the one to avoid as it is a very boring engine... There is a noticeable difference between a C180K and a C200K as not that long ago I had C180K as a courtesy car.

I had my C220 auto hatch for a coupe of months and now it covered over 6000 miles the engine is starting to loosen up. It's starting to achieve almost 45 mpg.

I disagree slightly - I have a c200k estate even (imagine that) and I got 37.4 mpg on a trip to Wales on the weekend - surprised me even that I took a pic..

for some reason cant put it up though...
