C220 CDI W204
Hi all,

I currently own a 2009 C220 CDI and i've been having some troubles recently. A few weeks back, i put my boot down and got an ESP unavailable error and the CEL. I've read the OBD codes and i have P0087 and P0088 which indicates a high and low fuel pressure warning.

From what i've read, there could be an issue with the Quantity control valve and my local Indie have confirmed this. Trouble is, they quoted £600+ for the parts and labour as the QCV comes as part of the fuel rail assembly. I really don't believe Merc would sell the whole assembly if it's just a faulty sensor.

Has anyone experienced this fault at all?

Many thanks.

Now something is messed... QCV is located next to hp pump and is sold separately. Pressure regulator valve is end of the rail and nowadays not sold separately (pressure sensor it on the other end). Both valves are controlling fuel pressure, if I recall right regulator at idle, QCV when revs rise. If regultaor is culprit, I would go for second hand item (ebay or breakers)

Many thanks for the reply. Im certain its QCV, given the symptoms. I just need to find a part number now. Is there a parts catalogue that i can refer to? Thanks.

MB Star session is needed to check the high pressure fuel system test cycle.

Sounds like a faulty injector to me.

The problem you are describing is due to a faulty diesel temperature sensor located beside the quality control valve, just beside the high pressure pump. This is a common fault on these cars. The sensor is 30pounds and it will solve your problem. You can swap it by yourself.
