4 weeks ago i changed my battery as the car woudlnt turn over,RAC guy said the cells were dry in the battery.Over the last 5 days the car is turning but struggling to start.I feel as i am just about making it.Anyone advise where i should start looking to diagnose? thanks

How old is the battery?

It should have a date stamp on the terminals.

i will have a look tonite, although i bought it new from GSF .

Tail light fault has dissappeared.

Battery is stamped as XY 08 near the teminal (made by BANNER )

maybe you have a current drain from somewhere (stereo, interior light, elec seat)?

Is the glowplug light staying on, or coming back on after starting?

RAC came out today but no joy,he couldnt get it started, cant see any movement of the fuel he said.Going into Indy on Tuesday.

Hi maybe you need a new starter. About 2 months ago, mine went on me! Replaced a new starter and had no problem since!!!!

Car has started with "easy start".Could it be something to do with low fuel pressure? If is then what would it involve to fix?

Had the same problem on a C220 2008.. I wouldt turn over right away, so I changed the batt... A few days later it startet acting up again. Turned out the fault lay in the ignition module.. Changed it, reprogrammed keys never had any problems after that

Hope it helps...

Either there is an injector leak off or the clear fuel pipes are leaking air in.

I have just read the fuel sender threads. If i can get it started i will be filling the car up to max and then i'll have to wait for the Indys to open to get it checked .

Just to add-a month ago my fuel gauge showed empty when i know had filled up the previous day.The next time i started the car it was showing fuel again.I wonder if this was a sign of a failure to come.

Filled up to the top with Shell v power...but still having to use the easy start spray to get it going.

c220 cdi struggling to start up ** FIXED**

Indy has sorted the problem. It was due to the fuel rail pressure switch.i asked him whether it was the seals but he said it was definatley the switch.
