C230K Engine Light

Hi - looking for a bit guidance please? I know its hard to diagnose from a post but any suggestions welcome.

Having problems with Merc starting (its an auto 2004) when you turn the key it kind of splutters and struggles to start. The engine management light has come on obviously indicating there is something wrong but not sure where to start looking. It seems to be driving fine once it has started but just struggles fire up and get going .....

It has been recently serviced so in theory things should be ok ... does this sound like something as simple as a sick spark plug?

Any suggestions?

Update ....

Started car this morning and the first time it struggled .... kept turning over on its own after I turned key once before starting. Then tried it a couple of more times and it started fine but engine light is still on. Anyone had similar problems ?

Problem fixed, it was a faulty fuel filter that was only fitted a couple of weeks ago when it was serviced. Now replaced, fingers crossed this one will be ok.

Yes had that before, bet it was a pattern fuel filter. Faulty valve inside
