C230K panoramic evo 2002

Hi I have a C230K pano evo from 2002 the last 4 months i have a noise coming from what seems to be under the car / centre console area (it sounds like a plastic stick in the spokes of a bike wheel) the car is fine at standstill but on move makes this noise the noise is still there in neutral on the move but stops when the car stops....My local garage have had it in three times (non MB) and cant figure it out any ideas any one

Climate control stepper motors? They are behind the dash - apparently there can be as many as 10 of them!
