I'm considering coming back to an MB after a not too marvellous experience with a B Class back in 2010.

That said, the new C Class has really caught my eye, in particualr the c250 in the Sport trim.

I'm wondering what it's really like to live with, what MPG is reasonably expected on longer A-road trips (all of my commute is dual carriageway 70mph, besides a mile at either end) of 25 miles or so.

I'm also curious about the adblue and if it's required for smooth / reliable running what extra costs I can expect?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Best book one for the day and see if MPG is of concern, no other way of telling.

If it helps I did a 170 mile round trip up the M6 an across the M62 today and best saw 52mpg but averaged just short of 49mpg.

I can't comment on the MPG of the C250, but with regards the AdBlue, this is just a consumable. From what others have said, it's less than the cost of half a tank of fuel and a bottle lasts around 10,000 miles. So in the scheme of things, not megabucks. Some have even got MB to include FOC as part of a service.

The exhaust system requires it to function. It's not optional.

My C250 is doing 47mpg av in the first 3k miles. Best of up to 52. Those are the cars figures and no idea how accurate they are.

Wow, thanks everyone for coming back to me so quickly, that answers my questions brilliantly

I had 2011 facelift C250 estate. it would fall in with JJR1's comments albeit I guess you are looking at a new car?

Computer on mine said it had averaged around 46mpg in the time I had it and I do a fair mix of driving. I did 30k in about 18 months. I didn't really spend too much time trying to eek out the fuel but I am not overly heavy with my right foot.

On journeys up motor way then single carriageway from Glasgow to Inverness travelling at speed limits I could see 52/53mpg. I don't think I ever saw any better than this but equally don't recall seeing much worse than mid 40's even in the worst of conditions (fully loaded or heavy traffic) albeit the average would suggest other wise.

My commute to office was around 25 miles probably about 40/60 split town/A road and motorways usually in traffic. I would generally see 48mpg

Don't think mine needed Adblue (but who knows!)- if it did this answers that question too!

All in all I think it was pretty respectable for a circa 200bhp estate

the best mpg i have seen is 61mpg and the lowest is 55mpg
am getting 700 - 725miles to a full tank
