C250TD - Limp Mode after Motorway

Hello there,

I've just bought a '98 C250TD Sport Auto Estate, i've had it go into limp mode a couple of times now after motorway journeys using cruise control. (50 miles)

Quick engine on/off revives it.

Any ideas as to what it could be? Using the search mode points to MAP sensor and EGR faults, however no definitive conclusion seems to be reached.

Welcome. You need to get your car onto a Star to check for any stored codes. Then take it from there. Could be simple or could be complex - you wont know until you have it checked out..

Mine did the exact same last weekend, on cruise for the dual c/way & braked to turn off into side road & car was in limp mode when I reapplied the throttle. Only ever did it once & is now running OK again. Hope you get an answer & can update this post. I was told it may have been the MAF.

Seems to be commonplace! I've arranged for the fault codes to be read next week so we'll see if that brings any news..

The previous owner was a lady who used it for running around in, so i'm inclined to think that a change in driving styles is a bit of a clue here. I'll endeavour to update.
