Hi all,

I am just looking for some advice really. What are peoples thought on getting either a c300d saloon 2018 (facelift 241bph) or the e220 coupe (201bph)? For me it’s a hard decision between performance, luxury and practicality.

Performance wise I think the c300d would be more fun to drive, however I haven’t drove it yet, been searching for one nearby. This is really important to me the way it drives and pulls. Practicality wise I think C class takes it here as well, it’s also more fuel efficient according to honest John website.

The E class couple is more luxury clearly, but my question really is has anyone has drove both and which one feels better in terms of performance? Any advice on which I should go for? E class coupe is better looking IMO but nicely done up c class is eye candy too.

I've owned neither car, but had a W212 E class and now moved to a S204 C class.

The E class is far superior in comfort and interior space. To sum up, it's a better car.
But if a C class suits your needs, it will have a more lively performance comparing the two engines.

Have you thought about an E class with a more powerful engine? E300 for example.

Thank you for the advice.

Yeah the thing is I’m looking at fuel economy too, the c300d 2018 has a new engine that gives around 56mpg combined based on honest John reviews. Additionally you get 241bhp.

The e350 coupe 2019 is more expensive and the mpg isn’t great I think it’s around 35-40mpg. I don’t think there is a e300 coupe version for that year in the Uk. E220 coupe has 191bhp and around 45mpg combined.
