C43: Advice needed from you tyre gurus!

The Assymetrics are just as good (if not better) when compared with Eagle F1's Bobby. Also they aren't V-tread (so they shouldn't tram-line), but i've had no personal experiences with this tyre so i cant comment with hand-on-heart.

I can confirm that the GSD3's are truly dreadful in the snow and slush.

Although I quite like them normally. They also seem to have a tendency to tramline a bit.

To be fair though Matt, it's probably got a whole lot more to do with having a front-engined, rear wheel drive car with low profile and wide tyres designed primarily for performance and summer conditions rather than actual brand in this case.

I'd say that if conditions really were that bad, most other comparitive tyres would have performed no better.

Will, you are probably right:) , although I felt that the V pattern hindered in reverse, which normally is a good direction to go in in a rear wheel drive car when in deep snow.

hmmm - think I'll go with Continental Sport Contact 3's then!

hmmm- i like the look of the Eagles but am now concerned that they are "Summer" tyres and thus no good in this type of weather - anyone running them at the mo in the snow?

-also - If I go the eagle route I'll have the rears on Eagles and front on Conti's - is this a problem?

All of the tyres you are looking at are summer tyres & no use in this weather.

If you want tyres for this weather then buy "cold weather tyres" & a spare set of wheels.
