C43 Amg advise please

Had my C43 for 3y from now. Winter tyres aren’t really needed thanks to 4matic in my opinion but I’m down south. It’s probably the main thing going for the C43

I’ve struggled to find a good cradle for my phone that works with the curricular vent.

Forget MB navigating. Use your phone.

The 4Matic was one of the main reasons I went for the C43 over the C63, in all but bone dry conditions it almost makes up for the lack of performance over the C63. I can't say I've ever had an issue with the nav, other than sometimes it gets a bit behind but that's typical of most satnav software. Main problem with my phone is that it won't fit on the charging pad without being taken out of it's case which is a tad annoying.

Agree with winter tyres - I've never fitted winter tyres to ANY of my performance cars, and as said the 4Matic will take up any slack.

I have a C43 estate (1year this Sunday). Every time I get in I grin! Actually the only time I didn’t grin was when an annoying whining noise from the rear was finally tracked down to.....the Michelin PS4’s! Fitted a full set of Conti SC6 now-noise gone. On the trim discolouring I’ve had success using Meguiars Scratch-X but it wasn’t too bad. Are you buying from a dealer? If so I’d want the exhaust flap issue fixed. Regarding brakes it seems the rear pads wear faster than the fronts. I think the main thing is getting a car with FULL MB or well-known Indy history.

Also if it comes from the main dealer it will come with a 2 year Tier 2 warranty. (Note that these cars are expensive to repair if something major goes wrong so well worth the free warranty)

Don't go by their mulitpoint check......thoroughly inspect the car yourself inc the state of the disks which can be easily seen.

They will also try to sell you alloy wheel insurance. My advice is to reject the Mercedes insurance take the alloy wheel / tyre insurance if you wish from Tidyalloys. It is cheaper and a better policy.

I thought they reduce this to one year. Is this not the case?

Tblk i just got my 2017 C43 from main MB dealer and came with the 2 year warranty which I was told was standard on all AMGs they sell.

Hi Everyone

I am looking at buying a C43 cabriolet in black 2017 model.
My first MB AMG.
So just wanted some pointers on what to look out for.
Any common problems etc.
I have viewed one car & quite impressed with car. There was a few things I noted.
A rattle upon light revving of the engine from turbo wastegate rods. I understand a software update will reduce this noise, but not eliminate it. I guess a common noise. Front brakes are, so where is the best place to get replacement parts from? What make of pads & discs do MB use?
The Silver surround trims are discoloured, is this common?
The car has Michelin tyres on it, what tyres are best for this car
Does anyone know at what speeds & Drive mode that the sports exhaust flaps open at?, as the LH flap is a little sticky.
Thanks in advance for any advise given
Many thanks all
You have a good independent specialist down your way , Steve at Avantgarde Mercedes , Clevedon near Bristol

You can set the tyre pressure to read psi on the Mercedes Me app, just not on the car though
