C43 AMG Coupe

Just an observation but I think the chrome line around the bottom of the front bumper should be in black when the Night Pack is ordered. Very picky I know. Love the car though. Looks fab. Ant.

It hasn't got a night pack as wasn't available when I ordered. The front valance is a brushed effect though as opposed to a chrome look which is much better than the 250 I've just let go.

Sound is fantastic in sport and sport +, it develops into quite a high pitched whine when it's opened up. The 9 speed box is very good too, and again quite aggressive in the sport modes.

Have to confess I've had a fairly heavy right foot already as couldn't resist :). It is totally planted on the road with the AMG rude control and 4wd!

Ride control doh!

Sorry about that. Thought it had a night pack with the mirrors & beltline strip being black.

Anyhow's, wasn't a criticism, just something I noticed.

Enjoy.

Ant.

The beltline and mirrors are black on all 43's

Are there any options that you wish you had ordered now that the car has arrived?

I am thinking about the full leather interior as not sure about the suede effect on the seats.

Also the 360 camera as its looks a bit useful and not stupidly expensive at £330

Oh you'll see. Big debate here on the C43's authenticity by the full on willy wavers.

I was a willy waver now I'm in a poxy diesel dustbin wish I never did it!

Let me fix this for the OP.

Don't bother with the C43 and get the 63 even if you go used. It will always be the one to have and frankly one day you'll get to a set of traffic lights and a 63 will be next to you and you'll regret it.

That aside it won't be a bad car but for MB to put C43 AMG on the back I think is a bit of a liberty if I'm honest. They are preying on uneducated customers thinking they are buying a proper AMG which they are not.

There is no such thing as a PROPER AMG, it's just opinion. It's Mercedes-AMG that decide what they want to put the badge on. This C43 is faster than lots of AMG's of old. Let's not start this again

I wasn't starting mate I was just imparting my opinion.

If OP wants to buy one that's his choice. I can't see the value for money in it myself having now looked into it.

BMW are at it too with their M135i and M235i nonsense. Good cars but no need for the "M". Pure marketing rubbish!

They're cheap amg engineless car for cheap people...
End of ...

I like the fact that the C43 has 4WD as live in a very rural location, also I don't really care about it being an AMG or not as the back will be de-badged, for me it's got 367BHP 4wd and hits 60 in 4.6 seconds, what's not to like.

At 47 years old I am more relaxed than I used to be so if I do end up at the lights with a C63 I will go for it and laugh as we both become 17 again. No matter what you drive there is always something quicker

Let's see how the C63 gets on when chasing me along wet country lanes

I really want a new car as its a special experience and I know where it's been, I will lose money sure but life is too short to worry.

I originally ordered the Night Pack but had to drop it off from as it couldn't be supplied in my delivery time frame.

I was working within a budget from a work car allowance perspective, not an affordability one (for the monkeys who seem to be hung up on this being a cheap alternative), otherwise I'd have gone for the AMG seats with full leather.

Just for good measure too, I am looking for the first 63 at the lights in the wet :) My take on that argument is simple, AMG is a brand, it's a marketing tool on whatever vehicle it's attached to. I'm completely with JBD, a C63 is a hell of a car, but so is this for the money, I wouldn't care less if it were a C450 on the back, or a C630 for example.

Of all the regrets to have it life this one would be at the bottom of the list.

Shame you didn't grow up in the 80's Stu. You'd have been the definitive Escort Boy.

Ant. :D

There hasn't been a "proper" AMG for twenty years.

I know what you mean Lee, but that's the way car design has gone I guess. Maybe same can be said about BMW's M range and the original Quattro brand.

Personally I like the modern cars. I think they're on the whole better machines.

What AMG from 20 years ago were you thinking?

Ant.
