C43 AMG w202 estate

Front door respray/replacement isn't it? Silver is a nightmare to match.
Or is the door the only bit that hasn’t been painted? ;)

Door appears to nearly match the lower portion of the front wing…

I see what you mean: all the panels under the rubbing strip seem to match the drivers door including the bumpers!
That said, on my Iridium Silver S204, the front bumper has deffo been repainted but I'm pretty sure the back is factory original. But neither match the rest of the car:rolleyes:

To be brutally honest, if you find one of these that hasn’t had any paint it’s probably come from Japan. They are old cars which have a reputation for getting frilly around the edges

Very true, I expect everything bar the roof on mine will have seen a spray gun at some point 😂

Just spotted this beauty on Car & Classic;

The obligatory "white background tax", but it looks in gorgeous condition.

That looks rather lovely. Apart from tinworm issues, what goes wrong with these?
Not a deal to be honest. Some of the earlier transmissions can be a bit fragile if thrashed all the time, but regular fluid changes help. Ditto with the engine; keep it serviced and it's virtually bulletproof. Tinworm aside the W202 is a really solid car, throw a V8 in the mix and they're great. Some parts are now obsolete from the dealer, mainly trim stuff though really, all the day to day components are still readily available. Brakes discs are expensive, but as one of these is unlikely to be on daily duties, it's not much of a problem.

Someone needs to buy this before I end up with 2x C43s 😂

Thanks for the insight. On the evidence of the pics, it looks in better nick then my 2013 204 and Kingsley isn't a million miles from me.....
🤔

To say they made so few of them, there always seems to be a steady stream of estates available.

Only 140-ish UK spec wagons apparently. ^This one doesn't 'feel' as loved as the one at 4* Classics; the front bumper is slightly misaligned and what did they use to clean the interior with? A pet hate of mine is shiny interior trim. Hopefully it would clean up properly. Still, a substantial wad of cash cheaper than the previous one .
