C43 Cooling Fan Issue

Also to add that the indie I spoke to said they would run check whilst fan running & thought it something to do with A/C Compressor which read in this thread.
I love the car but tbh would sell it if I could! Things like this really irritate me & take the gloss off a otherwise decent motor!
Be interesting to hear what your Indy mechanic says... mine was hesitant to change the A/C compressor as no fault found. Very much the same, love the car but its so irritating, more so when parking at night when it quiet.

When I dropped mine off for the fuel issue recall, they specifically told me its wasn't to do with the fan, its like they were expecting me to mention it.

What I thought was amusing, when I picked mine up, a guy parked next me (similar model) I asked if it was due to the recall, he said it was something to do with engine fan staying on... told him good luck.

Yeah he's got no hope! Will report back on Indy as hoping to pop it in this or next week

So went to Indy & they ran diagnostic check but said all parameters were OK
Just to add my wife's C43 has literally started to do it as well this week! Also at about same mileage mine started!

Both times that this happened with mine it was cleared by a 75 mile motorway run.
Funnily enough mine cleared the first time after a run of about 60 odd miles.
My daily to work is only 7 miles each way

Mine also has stopped, daily run is around 20 miles, but happened to have a round trip to Southampton and back and all is silent.... still expecting it to be there when I park.

I've just started having this with my 68 C43 too after 2 years of not having it so it can't be a "quirk" of the vehicle.

Did 2 long journeys and fans started going crazy.

Didn't use car for 2 weeks.

Did 2 long journeys again and same issue.

Did 2 short journeys the following day and it didn't happen.

I noticed the engine temp was lower for the short journeys, don't think it reached 80C so seems like that could be related?

Did also notice the battery isn't full charging either since this began.

Just to update on this, took it in for Service this week and mentioned this. Don;'t know what they did but it's resolved! Bit annoying the Mercedes staff don't tell you anything but oh well.
