Car
Mercedes 250CE W114, Alfa Romeo GT Coupe 3.2 V6
whose owner would be happy for Olly to inspect it.

W202 or W203?

Not that I have either for sale, mind. ;)

W203 although should that rare beastie of a w202 c55 appear I would be interested. Excellent c43 a possibility too.

There is a few for sale on PistonHeads and autotrader any particular colour/spec ?

Colour and spec aren't very important to me, it is going to be a fun/track car. I am more interested in provenance though - a car that is well looked after and either a member's or known to a member. Sounds picky but I am prepared to pay a premium for good provenance after inspection.

Good luck in your search Charles. :thumb:

It's a shame you weren't looking when that supercharged C43 was up for sale, that looked a beauty.

Thanks Sweatpea. I am in no hurry, and am prepared to wait for a good one - just putting down a marker.

What about a CLK55 - I think they are the lightest of the '55s, perhaps bar an SLK?

Could be a good starting point if you're building a track car.

One of the guys on here used to have a stripped out CLK55.

How about Peter who was buying the Audi - didn't he have a CLK55 for sale with some sensible mods? Olly should know the car I think, and it had a Quaife LSD fitted too.

I've got a C32 for sale, but it's an estate so might not suit your track day use.

Will - I've seen the stripped out one, fun thing, but I need to be one step back from that with seats in the back. I haven't seen the CLK you mention, could well be an option.

AMG J - I've had the C32, lovely car, but I want to scratch the V8 itch. Best of luck with selling it.

Sorry Sweetpea - I have no idea why I put in an a rather than an e.

My priority is a C55, so while others may appeal, I would like to stick with that car first.

Any pictures yet?:dk:

Sorry Mike - Monday to Friday the car is parked at the railway station by 07:15 and collected about 20:00. I'll definitely take the pictures on Saturday when I get to see the car in daylight hours!

Charles - sorry for the thread highjack! (and glad to hear you enjoyed your C32).

Thanks Don. I now have a lead on a rather gorgeous one.

Oh yes - sorting it early afternoon, somewhere in England.
