C63 AMG
Morning
has anyone fitted discs and pads from an alternative supplier.
I've just bought a 2010 AMG C63 and it needs discs and pads at the rear.

I was thinking a good german or American after market parts supplier etc

Anyone got any contacts, or bought and fitted aftermarket discs?

or am I just going to have to swallow and but the Merc parts?

Cheers in advance

Which brake set-up is it? Std or PPP?
Although are the rears common?

I'm not sure, how can I tell
see if the discs have small torx all round the hub if yes the discs are PPP !:thumb:

Wrong, small torx screw around the front disc would indicate PP discs.

Legs around the front disc attaching it to the aluminium bell indicate PPP.

Think the rears are the same for all cars though....

You'd be surprised at the cost of discs from the dealer, I got fronts, rears, pads and wear sensors for £648 (standard C63), discounted from £850 without me having to ask, so I'm guessing the rears and pads shouldn't be much more than £300, at least that way you won't have the nasty black brake dust to clean off that aftermarket pads so often produce.

PPP have red calipers??

The only aftermarket discs I could find for the rear for mine were black diamond. But in the end I got a real good deal on OE MB ones from Mercedes Benz dealer in Edinburgh.

I saw them advertising a wheel on ebay, I needed 2 so gave them a call. Not only did they beat my Local dealers on the wheels but did a great deal on brake discs too.

I bought the rear Brake pads and sensor from Euro Car parts. I specifically asked for Textar Brake Pads as they are good.

The original Brake pads are quite expensive.

I've bought EBC yellow stuff brake pads directly from EBC.
going to try Edinburgh MB and buy proper MB disc's.(thanks for the info)
cant really justify driving an AMG and then putting Ford Anglia Brake Disc's on can I
:)

Quick update.
Actually flapped over nothing, I bought the yellow stuff brake pads, and took the car to my garage guru, only to find that the rear brakes were fine.
I checked the discs and they appear to have no visible torx screws, so does that mean that I have the paupers version ? no PP or triple P for me it seems!

Not ****d thou, it still goes like stink :)

Rear brakes are common to both.. its the red calipers that give the PPP away.

All are good though.... brum brum.

Dont be too upset you have the "paupers" version of discs..
My discs are £500 + each !!!!!
