Quick story, I had brand new rear C63 back boxes fitted to my W211 55 by EMP yesterday, with my already modified exhaust, (Kleemann headers, 3 inch bespoke pipe work, 100 cell race cats to boxes, nothing else), crux of it is, its got a great aggressive sound under load, but its far too loud for my liking, and droning above 60mph, more so for Goodwoods noise levels as well, so I am making an appointment to have them stripped off and replace my oem 55 ones. An expensive experiment LOL:doh:
These 63 boxes have cost a bit, especially the o/s one and I will lose monies understandably, not thought of my price yet, need to take them off, probably in August, at that point they would have done around 500 miles, anyone here likely to be interested. I think and EMP also, it would probably be better to fit these boxes to a more standard exhaust system, over my own modified one, you will get the aggression under load but not the drone.
Let me know of anyone's interest and I will ponder what I want for them;)

surprised Ricky, why not get a middle silencer put back in and it will even the sound out nicely.

Ricky, best compromise would be CLS 55 back boxes, not as aggressive as the 63's but louder than the E55's.

I'd consider a deal with mine?

Jules.

Yes Alps mate, something EMP and myself discussed after my initial 'big' shock of the noise on the 1st start up within their unit, it was decided to run the car and see what it was like, but my 3 hr journey of the M25 enroute home rather made my mind up, but will raise the silencer thing again, just trying not to put too many restrictions in the system, as may as well left the OEM system in place, and saved all my money, the joys of modding a car! LOL:o

Jules mate, a very very long time since I briefly met you. Also discussed the CLS 55 boxes with EMP, If nothing comes of salvaging my current situation I may come back to you on this, I await EMP's input for a solution or a lead time to remove yesterdays work:( I have a private track day at Goodwood on Monday, am just visualising my car failing the noise test, going to make my day!:wallbash: moreso as my previous 2 visits there have finished early, limp mode and a cat breaking up! really do not need a third one!

Haha good to see you are still bitten by the bug. I still can't decide whether to keep the car or sell it. I just cannot find anything to replace it with so am looking at options like this, that may make me want to keep it more lol.

Hope all goes well at Goodwood.

I'll send you a pm.

Jules.

Jules.
