Anyone had a windscreen replaced on the 204 facelift c63?
Just on way back from fuelling up and managed to get hit by a stone. Small chip and then an 8inch crack coming off it :(
I've got windscreen cover with Sky insurance. Just wondered if anyone's had any trouble before? I'll give autoglass a call in the morning,,

Cheers all

Do you have the driver assistance package on your c63?

No I don't think so, can't see it on the options list. It's got the rain/light sensors. traffic sign recognition but I think that's below the number plate.

Had mine done by Autoglass (as per insurance policy).
As long as they know what sensors are fitted behind the screen then they should be ok to do the job.
They told me it would need re-calibrating afterwards, either at one of their specialist centres or by the dealer. I didn't bother, and not had a problem with mine in over year.

Happy days, I'll ring Sky first just to confirm who they actually use.

Don't settle for a pattern windscreen. Demand one from MB with MB hologram on it. Pattern parts have rain/light sensor mount in a slightly wrong place (like 1mm away from the target) and the interior mirror with sensor housing won't go over them.

It is straight forwards - no particular issues to fit. I cracked my windscreen by dropping the wiper arm on the glass when changing the wiper blades, and it cracked right across. Actually I very nearly did that again last week! luckily a minor chip at the bottom edge, that I managed to repair with a RainX repair kit (phew!).

I requested that Autoglass source an original MB windscreen - I was surcharged by about £150 IIRC. The windscreen had to be fitted at the depot as the calibration for intelligent headlights etc. needed to be done as part of the job. It would probably be fine without this - I believe it is more of a function check, but the WIS job sheet specifies that calibration is checked with a standard target, so there is some scope for misallignment or different optical properites of different windscreens.

I was given all of these options by Autoglass, but in the end went for the cheaper screen and thought "If I have a problem then I'll get it calibrated later".
I've had no problems with wipers, lights or anything else yet.

Just waiting for confirmation on a time slot for mobile fitting. They've told me it'll need recalibrating afterwards, potentially at my own cost (their checking with Sky ins.)
Would this be something MB do in an hour, or are there Road tests etc needed to recalibrate? Reading other people's posts it seems the recalibration isn't always needed...

I had an original MB screen fitted about 3 years ago by Autoglass at no extra charge, it was done on my drive at home, no problems whatsoever.

Having genuine screen fitted Friday morning at the York fitting centre, and then calibration at MB whenever a slot is available ....
£100 excess, Sky and Autowindscreens been pretty helpful so far!
Thanks all :)
