C63 speakers

Great! Thanks for the reply. Does it feel like you're driving an SUV or more of a car? I took one out briefly when they first came out years ago but can't really remember much. Is it 'wallowy' or does the sporty set-up help with that? Do they have run flats?
Not sure whether to buy used or go the finance route either??? haven't had a used car for many years now. I'm also aware that a new model/facelift could be imminent.
I'm not due for a change for about another year but I will start looking and test driving towards the end of this year in case I need to order something. I'll have plenty of fun testing out various other vehicles though :)

There's some cracking deals on new ones I had £10k off mine new!

It handles surprisingly well it's lots lower than a normal q5 and is just a stunning car. I came from an M3 directly into the SQ5 and I didn't miss the M3.

Interesting you mentioned m3(e9x?) ..How do you compare it with c63 amg? Thx

M3 is a surgeons scalpel and the C63 is a sledgehammer.

Daily drive I much prefer the torque of the C63 but B roads blast I'd have the M3. C63 is massively faster straight line.

Oh right I assumed it was. I've got HK and it's decent. Not as good as BMW offerings mind you.

Interesting you say that as my recollection of the HK I had in my E90 M3 is that it isn't as good as the HK in the C63. I'm not an audiophile however so take that with a pinch of salt :)

Totally agree! Although with suspension/tyre tweaks to the C63 it closes the gap in terms of handling.

The HK on the e90 M3 was alright, but it is much better on the newer models. Had it on my M135i and is was a good combo with the DAB.

Re driving: having now gone on to a C63, I firmly believe it's a better (and quicker ) road car than the e90 M3. To me, the AMG feels more planted on the crap surfaces that we have to put up with, and it copes better with undulations. It does lack the lsd in standard trim, but once rolling that's not such an issue. On a track the M3 is maybe half a second quicker, but that's not where I drive :thumb:

I had individual audio which was fantastic (sadly discontinued).

Yes I don't believe the handling gap is as large as m car owners would have you believe.

Yep I never track mine either. I do miss the social aspect of owning the M3 though. Lots of meets, shows as a club we attended. It's more of an ownership experience.

That's true, there's certainly a lot more "friendly banter" on Cutters !
That said, there's also a lot more sh1te on there too.

Yeah I have to say I'm getting a little tired of the nastiness just because I happen to prefer my C63 to the M3. Some are deluded there.

When you say few tweaks what did you mean by that? Care to share for potentially new owner of c63 ? )))

Being 350z forum member and checking cutters and this forum I can honestly say that this forum is far behind, not trying to offend anybody, simply my honest opinion!
Probably AMG is not very much being moded and not much to share!Where m3 and 350-370z has endless modding potential :from wheels, bodykit, engine upgrades etc...
Think more expensive the car ,less people are willing to upgrade/mod it! Guess dealers warranty thing plays a big part in it1

I think it's because this isn't an AMG specific forum mate so you get the people who think AMG owners are baseball cap wearing idiots. I also think rather than mutual respect due to the brand Mercedes attract far more elitism, there is an air of snobbery I find on here. However this is what we have so

Says who???

Surely Stuart can comment if 2 or 4 pipe mod on m3 can compare with c63 exhaust? ))

2 or 4 pipe mod sounds ****e in my opinion. It's a cheap ass way of ruining your exhaust.

I will say there is definitely a different level of spending needed on an AMG to an M3 to mod it.

I had a Meisterschaft on my M3 and it was sublime. The M3 is all about induction noise though ;)

Did you used to wear a skirt too stu?lol

Sure (sorry for off topic though!)...

Replacing tyres with Michelin Pilot Super Sport made a big difference for me (I went slightly wider on the rears with 265/30/19).

Also went with the AMG uprated suspension on mine. Not sure if this is easy to retro fit but if you wanted to go down that road you'd probably be best to get KW V3 coilovers - see Palmball's thread on this: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/92326-c63-ppp-kw-v3-coilovers.html
