I wonder if someone could give me a few pointers here.
I went out to change the rear brake pads on my W202 C180 Esprit Auto today only to find that the pin in the offside rear has seized. Seized to the point that it has bent everything I have tried to use to move it. (Including three punches):wallbash:
I don't fancy drilling out the pin in case I damage the caliper body. So my question is this. I have found a caliper off a W202 C240 Sport Auto on Ebay and it looks exactly the same. Will it fit the C180, (Crossed Fingers).
I wait with baited breath.;)

Don't know if this will help but the pins on the front calipers on early 211's used to seize in. The cure was to get a small disc in an angle grinder and carefully part-off the pin either side of the pads. After the pads were out it was an easy job to punch out the remaining bits of pin.

Looking on the EPC 180 and 240 brakes are different although it would need chassis numbers to be sure.

Thanks guys. I've ordered a set of drop forged pin drifts. I shall try them at the weekend and let you all know how it goes.

Good luck-it's a pig of a job....
