Hi All
I am looking at having my rear suspension arms replaced.
Can anyone provide with a WIS pic of the rear set up please?
Its a 2003 CLK Convertible 320
Thanks

Which arms? There are quite a few

Thats the problem!

I have already had front upper and lower arms, track rod ends and droplinks done and am having new shocks fitted so want replace the rear arms as well while in bits.

Hence I thought a pic of the rear set might help me identify what might need doing.

Are there any particular parts that needs replacing? Or just all of them?

Thanks

If you are doing a complete overhaul then do them all.

Just pop into a merc dealer and have a look on their EPC system and point out the ones you need.

Its getting to the point where you might as well drop the rear axle.

Is there much of a labour saving changing all the rear arms? If the suspension setup on a W209 is the same as others the rear shocks are only held in place by a bolt at the bottom and a nut at the top. I don't think you need to disturb any of the arms if that is the case.

Yours is a 2003 car, unless it has issues of very high mileage I wouldn't change bits unless you know them to be faulty or worn. Otherwise, where do you stop - subframe mounts, springs, etc. Sod's law you'll do the lot and then something completely different will go wrong :o

Just IMHO of course :-)
