Hi

Would the 2004 W203 C-Class be CAN - OBDII Compliant?

I have an Autel scanner and it plugs in and powers up just fine. It then says it has a "Linking Error - Try Again" Tried another scanner - same result.

It should be, my 2003 W203 certainly is.

OBDII compliance was compulsory for petrol cars from 2001 I believe and for diesels from 2004.

Sounds as if your OBD socket is damaged or has poor connections.

Check any fuses in the ecu box. My W210 cdi had a blown fuse (7.5amp IIRC) which prevented Commination with STAR.

Mine (Launch CReader V1) does, but for some reason it identifies my diseasel as a "spark ignition vehicle".

Perhaps it sees an injection ECU and makes the assumption :dk:

Everything else works properly, it even shows live turbo boost.
