Been on Blackcircles, camskill, mytyres and various tyre fitting franchises and none are as cheap as Oponeo.

For goodyear asy 3s

255/35/18 £114 each

235/40/18 £108 each

Dirt cheap if you ask me!!

Are they cheaper elsewhere?

Tyreleader

Just be aware that Tyreleader are based in Europe and at some point WILL send you the wrong tyres. They don't publish any contact details so you'll find it impossible to speak to anyone. Their only method of customer service is an email ticket system which drags on for over a week before they agree it was their fault and tell you to return the tyres.
They will not refund you before the tyres are back in their warehouse in Germany, and they will not send replacements either. If you still want the tyres you ordered in the first place, you'll be told to start another order, meaning they now have your money twice and your still waiting on your tyres.
The fun bit is if you actually got a tracking number from them, you can then follow your tyres playing ping pong across the English Channel as the UK courier tries to return them and every time they arrive in Europe they send them back to the UK for delivery again. This went on for two weeks before the warehouse in Germany confirmed they had them back in their hands. It took me 5-6 weeks before I got my refund, their prices are tempting but the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. If you like banging your head off a brick wall, this is the company to use!

Just bought two Dunlop Supermaxx 235 X 35 x19's from Oponeo at £119 each incl, delivery, couldn't find a better price. What was surprising, they were delivered from Beuane in mid eastern France, quite a trip.

Hi MJ, Just looked on 123 Tyers, and they beat my price by 30 p, per tyer.

Ouch

With this in mind check the date the tyre were made, I wanted to get a tyre for the wife Zafira bus , one had an irreparable puncture , I like to keep the same tyres on each side . As the other tyre was in very good condition I sourced one of the same on the internet, I can't remember why but there was a bit of a delay in me ordering it and while shopping around locally I discovered that particular tyre had not been built for years and the 'new' tyre I was going to buy on the internet could have been stored in who knows what' conditions.

Probably no big deal on the Zaf bus but not something I would want on my car. If it is of course a new model of tyre none of the above applies

Oponeo sent me a pair of Continental tyres that were in very poor condition and clearly not new. I can’t recall exactly what the DOT codes was now but they were well over a year old, I think 2 or nearly 3 years old from memory.

No labels, had gone hard/dry, grey/brown and looked as though they’d been badly stored (can’t remember if they’d been previously mounted/removed come to think of it) but they looked like they’d been dragged out of a chalk pit.

I asked for them to be replaced (politely), they weren’t forthcoming. Customer service was non-existant, PayPal refunded me and then they were very keen emailing me to collect them etc. Funny that.. :)

I wouldn’t use them again. I appreciate this may be a one-off but the customer service, poor communication and the way they just didn’t want to help spoke more about the company than the goods they actually delivered.

Have had no such trouble with Tyreleader, mytyres, Camskill or Blackcircles, neither seen tyres like that attempted to be passed off as new by any of the mainstream tyre dealers in the UK. I wouldn’t expect older than about 6 months personally, ideally less than a year old for expensive mainstream tyres being sold as brand new. Tyres age, fresher is better.

I reckon they bought old stock cheaply from warehouses in Europe and were selling them online and making returns impossible, but that is just my own thoughts.

Interesting to note that Oponeo will send you tyres up to 3 years old at time of delivery as per their terms and conditions. Be aware! :)

Damn you look through good 100s of reviews on trustpilot and its take a couple of bad ones to put doubts!!

Right good shout with 123tyres they are slightly cheaper.

Tyreleader are a a good few £ cheaper and the reason I didn’t look there is because I’ve heard similar bad reviews with returns.

Ideally I’d want a UK based company to avoid the above problems and 123tyres seems to be coming from Oxfordshire??

So 123tyres are:

£97.60 for 235/40/18. £8.40 cheaper than oponeo

£114.40 for 255/35/18 40p more than oponeo

So £8 saving.

Mind, I haven't actually ordered tyres from 123tyres, it is just that they came out cheapest on several occasions when looking for tyres and comparing online prices.

On one occasion Blackcircles had a very convenient fitting location (ATS branch near me) and so I bought from them, on another occasion a local fitter offered a good price for 4 fitted tyres so I went with that.

Could the asymmetric 3s be cheap because they will soon to be replaced by the asymmetric 5s?

I think 123tyres are mytyres under a different name.

Also remember to check for discount codes for these sorts of places, even 5% off a few hundred quid adds up :)

Damn I feel like a fool....

With not long owning the car and seeing the add saying it had 18s on I let myself be under the impression they were tyres fitted for the 18” rims.

Just checked them there properly and they are 19” apparently.

255/30/19 tyres on the back

And for some reason they are 225/35/19 on the front... I thought they were supposed to be 235/35/19 on the front??

Still prices don’t seem too bad on 123tyres.

How fresh are they? Serious question - tyres have a manufacture date on them and shouldn't be too old (IIRC used to be 4 years).

235x 35x19 are the correct spec for the fronts on a W204 C63.

As above, 123 tyres are a subsidery of MyTyres
