Hi

I put a new battery in our W140 S-class and I can't open the door, it seams to unlock and the door pin pops up, but the door remains firmly shut.

Any suggestions on how we can gain access to the car?

The boot opens and the fuses look ok.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Tan you will find there is a way to reset you lock set up .Sorry i dont know but you will find that a member will help you with the problem .As you remove the battery it stops power to your computer. It now wants a reset.

I have unlocked the lock using the key, but the door seams jammed.

Sorry, couldn't resist :D

Total stab in the dark as i'm not familiar with w140s but i'm guessing it's related to the soft close? The internetz suggests that the reset procedure is as simple as pulling the relevant fuse and then having a cuppa before replacing it

Hi. Try and get yourself an Air Wedge Tool for opening car doors. KLOM is one company that makes them (loads of other companies available). Available on eBay for about £10. You use this kit to open a gap in the door frame and then pull the door handle. Standard procedure with roadside assistance. HTH.
