At the moment I have my 1995 C200 sport and my quantum2+2 for summer use (if it ever gets put back together in time for this year:rolleyes:)

I have now got to start moving my elderly father about a few times a week.
He had a stroke a few years back and cant walk without the use of a walking frame.

That’s where the problems start. His walking frame wont fit into the boot of the Merc and his new walking frame wont even fit into the back seat of the merc as the old one just did (it wont fit through the door:( ) so am thinking that I will need to get a different/bigger car.

I was having the occasional moment earlier this year where I thought about changing my car (I’ve had the c200 for a few years now) but what do I get?

There are no C class estates about at the moment:( within my price range and distance that I want to travel to buy a car & I don’t want to risk getting a E class with all the rust issues:mad: .

I know this is a MB forum and I would like to keep a MB but for the time being as I don’t have a lot of spare cash that I want to spend on a car I had thought about a **cough** 96-99 BMW 3 series touring **cough** or even a saloon (I don’t know the size of the boot) or maybe a Audi.

I had thought about a focus but the number of reports of major rust on the ffoc forum put me off them straight away:crazy: .

The car has to be automatic & reliable. I would have bought a old banger estate and kept the merc but cant warrant that as in summer the merc wouldn't get used for weeks on end.
Any ideas on any of the above cars or maybe even suggest some others that I should consider.

whisper mode (Always liked the BMW touring) If you tell anyone I shall be round with the boys:crazy: ;)

What about a 9-5 estate or 9-3?

Please bear in mind that rust is extremely rare in W210 models made before 1997! :) Check for rust before buying, or have it inspected.

You know you want to....

How about a nice late W124 estate?
I'm totally biased, of course......
