Anyone recommend using a car cover? Been toying with the idea as I sometimes have to go away for weeks at a time with work. I'm a little concerned however that a cover would just trap moisture under it

Do a few searches - lots of previous threads on this.

Good for short term, not for long term.

I left one on my old Honda Civic for a few months (declared it SORN), moisture in the car builds up and then comes the mould.

Make sure that the inside has a lining that won't scratch the car - a mate of mine just paid around £450 for a cover for his corvette. Fleece lined (the cover, not the car!) so that if it's windy, the constant movement wont dull/scratch the paintwork.
Obviously not as important if the car is inside, away from wind.

£450! Bloody hell!

and you have to make sure your car is always clean when you put the cover on, or you'll cause lots of little scratches as you take the cover on and off
