Car Fuel Saver?

I saw a similar thing on QVC called the Pilot Green. it came in 2 sizes for engines over 1600cc and up to 1600cc. Again showing good signs of fuel inconomy and what you could save doing various mileages by simply clipping the device over your fuel lines.

Cant say I was convinced but hey for £4.95 its got to be worth a try at least.

*EDIT* Found this

Have had this unit on the motor for a week and a half now and instead of 225 miles to the tank, I got 246 when the light came on.

So, 21 extra miles in 11 days doing the same journey and driving the same way will do me nicely :D
The unit is quoted as reaching it's optimum performance after 2000 miles, so hopefully I will get a few more miles later on.
I fitted 7 of these to neighbours cars last week too and they all say they are getting more mpg. :bannana: :bannana:

Moving to engine section...

Buy this man a drink. I'm getting one ! My disgusting current average of 38 mpg will need to be improved :D (my old car averaged 21 mpg) :(

Q. What makes the Fuel Saver Max so unique ?
A. Operates on the principle of resonance, utilizing a double chamber frequency with phased frequency modulation.
My mate laughed out loud when he read this. "It's a magnet you donk !" he said.

I've heard of these, they sound awesome... Apparently the neodymium superinductor induces a small amount of antigravity affecting the metaphasic properties of your right foot, obviously bypassing the Heissenberg uncertainty principle to avoid atomic diffusion. Otherwise known as the placebo effect ;)

Maybe but I want to know what Grav888 has done to his car. If Grav can save fuel in his E55 then I'm interested!

Also I'd be careful with m-99, I bought some phone bits off them a year or two ago and they charged me for postage but "forgot" to actually pay it, so I got a note through the door to say I had a package waiting at the post office depot with outstanding postage due on it! Cheeky gits!

Oh dear ....I've just ordered some phone bits off them!

They might have cleaned up their act I suppose...

I ordered a set of little screwdrivers from them and the case was cracked as well! I didn't complain or anything I just vowed not to buy from them again.

Could be worth a go but where do you buy magnets. Dont see too many magnet stores about?

I use one on mine that my dad makes.
Got one on the mrs motor too and nearly everyone up my road has one.
You can visit the website HERE
But if you want a 10% discount, you'll have to go through me.

what is the mpg improvement?

is it easy to fit? and how much?

I used to get 225 miles to a tank full (80 ltrs), but now get 270.
It is improving still as time goes on being a petrol, but i did notice smoother running almost instantly.
Regarding fitting: 5 mins tops.
Price is according to cc of vehicle.
up to 1300cc = E-mag 3 (£39.99)
1301cc-2500cc = E-mag 4 (£49.99)
2501cc-5000cc = E-mag 6 (£79.99)

However, if you have a 2500cc turbo diesel, you should fit the E-mag 6 and not the 4.

Anyone tried on of these?? or any useful (edited cant type or spell!) comments on this idea??
I posted in september about this gizmo, I fitted one and would like to say that I get more mpg but I don't believe that I do.
It was suggested that strapping a banana on might have the same effect. :bannana:

I tried one of these magnetic wonders on a GE280 about 10years ago. It made not a scrap of difference. I then fitted an electrical engine pre-heater that claimed it could save fuel too. It didn't. :( And I was £400 poorer off!

It did warm up the inside ready for setting off though. The major drawback was that when the heater fan cut in, it set the damn alarm off, which meant that if you wanted a nice pre-heated de-iced car, you could not set the alarm.

Lets face it, if MB will go to the trouble of fitting such non-essentials as electrically operated rear seat head rests, don't you think that they would fit a £10 magnet around the fuel line? You might as well pay Mystic Meg a £5 and ask her to cast a spell!

...these things are a waste of money. Minor variations in traffic conditions, weather conditions, road conditions and driving style can act against one another, but every so often they act in concert. Mileage figures are way too variable to properly check these things anyway in real life.
