mercedes c220 2011 cdi manuel
Hi i have just replaced my clutch kit and flywheel on my 2011 mercedes c220 diesel manual and since the replacement my c220 nolonger starts their doesnt seem to be any power going to the starter motor qnd i have had the starter motor tested and works fine i have also replaced the 20amp fuse and the starter motor relay and incase

Did you disconnect the battery before working on unbolting the starter motor? There is a 200A fuse in the pre-fuse box. It’s next to the battery, in a plastic unit that has the jump start positive point in it. You might have blown that big fuse, but you would probably have been aware of a spark or crack sound if you have. It’s the same feed as the big wire on the back of the alternator, so thats a good place to check if you have 12v. It should be live all the time

No the battery was never disconnected

I don’t recommend a job like that without disconnecting the battery. Seriously risky ;)

Another thought has come to me. It might have a clutch switch, so it will only crank with the clutch pedal pressed down, but iirc the switch is at the pedal end, so unlikely you’d have disturbed that. If the fuse proves to be ok maybe look at the pedal next. I’m sure there isn’t anything at the gearbox bellhousing end that detects pedal operation. You’d remember if you disconnected anything electrical, I’m sure

Thanks you everyone i think ive sorted it as it seems to be one of the clutch pedal switches staying live
