So... a new problem tonight....:(
Jacked the car up (front LHS) to inspect the bolts going through the wishbones to see what bolts are fitted to the wishbones (re: my W202 camber thread).
Anyways, when I lowered the car back to the ground the rear LHS is now sitting about 30mm higher than the rear RHS!!

Eventually jacked the wheel off the ground (my spotlight melted just as things were going wrong) but couldn't see anything wrong. Lowered it back down and same story.

So, using my finest engineering judgement I decided the best solution was a drive down a bumpy road, whereupon it fixed itself after ~100m.
I'm putting it down to a damper/shock absorber getting stucking in the fully extended position as the ride on the left rear was a little 'stiff'.

Anyone had this or heard of this before?

Oh, and while my head was under the back of the car I noticed the rear diff was covered in oil. Oh joy.......

More likely to be something to do with the anti-roll bar its bushes/ mountings/ or links sticking. Never had that with shocks but there's always a first time for everything.;) The diffs all leak oil as DM says-- normally out of the nose seal at the propshaft flange--this tracks back in the slipstream to coat the diff housing so can look a lot worse than it is. Check the diff oil level is OK for piece of mind.

My diff has oil on it and i was told exactly the same thing, i was told the cause was more than likely a sticky/blocked breather and not to worry about it. That was 115,000 miles ago and it is still no worse.

I'll check it all out this w/e, bit difficult on the dark nights.
Suspension seemed ok today but I was convinced it had 'raised' itself overnight....

Cheers, Chris
