Hello people!

So I drive a C220 (W204) and I have noticed a strang behavior of my car.

What happens is that always after a big trip (about 100Km), and only after a big trip, my car shakes a bit when I am starting moving. I think is on that exact moment of point of clutch (or about that). Looks like I don't know drive a car.

But the strange thing is because my daily life, I only use to drive about 30Km per day. And even when I make big accelerations or drive with a high speed, the car never do that shake and always answer with a good behavior.

As I said, the car only do that after a bigger trip (about 100Km) and on the next day is good again.

Someone knows what can be this? Or have the same problem?

Thanks!

Your car is a manual, isn't it?

I have the same behaviour on mine (3.5 years old coupe) and I can only think of the clutch being responsible. Mine always comes back to normal the day after and never appears to get any worse. I have learned to live with it.

My old BMW 120d had a very similar issue and never got sorted by BMW despite getting the clutch replaced at some point. Maybe something to do with high torque diesel which induces this behaviour.

Search the forums for "clutch judder". Is this what you are experiencing?
I am not sure if that is the clutch because the problem only happens after a bigger trip (about 100Km).

For example, on the daily use (about 30Km per day) even when a start very fast on the first gear, the car doesn't have any problem, super okay... And also when I exchange a gear when I am driving (for example 3rd to 4th) even after a big trip, the car doesn't have any problem. Only on the first who I am stopped and am starting. If it was the clutch shouldn't happen in all gears?

It's why I don't understand what can be the problem... :/

Almost what happen to me... In the next day everything comes back the normal till the next big trip.

My fear is if this can be damaging something....

It sounds dual mass flywheel related, to me (DMF)
