Advice, then, please, based on this thread. I hope it's not a hijack, as it relates to shampoo.

I use Poorboys White Diamond followed by BH Autobalm at least a couple of times a year, and after every wash (2 buckets, mitt, microweave/fibre), I use Megs Last Touch.

The question: I live in a very hard water area, and just use el cheapo shampoo, unbranded, bought by the gallon for about a fiver, so am I undoing good work by using this, or, as commented, is there a lot of marketing hype?
