Anyone have a car warranty from companies like warrantywise etc

Are they worth getting, and pros and cons?

Nope.

My car came with a 3 monther which I used to line a bird cage.

Beyond that, a lot of them seem to cover the square root of FA and so you seem to end out paying anyway.

Experiences on here will vary, some good, some bad, but I would guess the general concensus, from what I've read, is don't bother - pocket the cash you save into a savings account and use that should you need to.

Hey Gaz

I do.

Warranty Direct. Read their Policy wordings (available on their website), front to back. And read again. They do make claiming a horrendously tortuous process, but be patient, then persistent, be prepared to stand your ground, make sure it's a valid claim, fight them on the beaches etc and Hey Presto! They do part with money! Mine isn't a bad policy, far from it in fact, but they do need some 'encouragement' to fulfill their obligations. But be aware it may not happen in a timely manner.

Not the best recommendation, but it's all the advice I can offer! (mine cost me £800 last Sept, IIRC, but has paid out multiples of that).

What car do you have?

E270 cdi 2003, you?

This is why I don't have one. They won't be losing money on the overall business, so if you've claimed n times the amount paid, then (simplistically) there must be more than n people who have paid but not claimed.

It's a gamble, but on the whole, they'll win. The advantage with the warranty is that your payout is capped to the premium (excepting exclusions) whereas without a warranty you could end up paying far more.
