Could anyone please tell me if my 53 plate 320 cdi has a carbon air Con filter. I've found and replaced the filter on top of the brake battery in the engine bay.

Is there a button on the climate system to activate the carbon filters? I would think this is normal for cars with carbon filters as the activated carbon in them soon becomes exhausted and therefor they can't be left on all the time.

On my CL they can be switched on manually or will come on automatically if the levels of CO and/or NOx in the air entering the cabin become too high.

As above if you have a activated carbon filter you will have a button to engage the filtering.

You will also have the two filter cartridges under the dash.

On the facelift model (2004 onwards), the basic climate control system (rotating dials) has one filter on top of the battery, the electronic climate system (digital controls and display) has an additional filter under the dash.

In either case the filter in the engine bay is charcoal.

Not sure however how it is for your 2003 car.

I haven't got a button on air con, so can stop looking. Thanks for the help.
